POP star Will Young is set to perform in front of thousands of fans at Chepstow Racecourse later this year.
The former winner of the TV show Pop Idol in 2002 is best known for releasing the fastest selling debut single in UK chart history when the double ‘A’ side Evergreen and ‘Anything is Possible’ sold 1.8million copies.
The 36 year-old solo artist has released six studio albums, four of which have reached number one and sold eight million albums worldwide.
Mr Young has received multiple honours including two BRIT Awards and also had a successful acting career performing in film, on stage and television.
His performance in Cabaret in 2013 was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Chepstow Racecourse has attracted in excess of 11,000 people for previous acts playing after racing including Sir Tom Jones, Madness and Jools Holland.
Executive director of Chepstow Racecourse, Phil Bell, said: “Our series of summer music race nights started in 2013 and have proved extremely popular and I am sure Will Young will continue that trend.”
“He is one of the most successful male solo artists in the last 15 years and we are really looking forward to welcoming him to Chepstow.”
The concert takes place on May 21.
Early bird tickets for the event, which starts with seven horse races, are £35 and go on sale on January 20. Hospitality packages start from £109.
