MORE than 500 jobs have been created as through the construction of a new housing site in Monmouth, according to a trade association.
The figures for the King’s Wood Gate site come from the Home Builders Federation, which has also stated that the wider development is bringing wider benefits to the community.
A range of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties are being built by David Wilson Homes at the King’s Wood Gate site on the outskirts of the market town.
Richard Lawson, sales director for the housebuilder, said: “It is crucially important to us that we become part of the communities we’re helping to create.
“So we do much more than introduce bricks and mortar.”
“In fact, here in Monmouth £100,000 has been contributed to the local council towards local footpath management and maintenance, and more than £1 million for adult recreation.
“There has also been a £200,000 contribution towards the provision of local transport in the area.
“Our team has worked incredibly hard to make this development one the local community can be proud of.”
