THE BODY of a man was discovered at a home in Pontrhydyrun in Cwmbran yesterday.
Gwent Police attended the property, in Stryd Camlas – at the Edlogan Wharf development between Cwmbran and Sebastapol – after they were contacted at around 9am.
At lunchtime, around six or seven police vehicles – including forensics vans and police cars – remained at the scene.
A further forensics vehicle and police car arrived just before 1.30pm.

One house in Stryd Camlas was cordoned off by police, allowing traffic to still pass by.
Officers remained at the scene late into the afternoon, and were still there at the time of writing.
One local resident, who asked not to be named, said there was “an awful lot of activity this morning.”
They said they first noticed Gwent Police officers arriving at around 10am.
Another resident, who also did not want to be named, said the police arrived around about 9am. “They have been here for quite a while,” they added.
“We got a call at about 9am [on Tuesday] morning reporting the discovery of the body of a man at a house on Stryd Camlas, Pontrhydrun in Cwmbran,” said a Gwent Police spokeswoman.
“The death is unexplained at this time.”
