HERE’S a hurrah for the hairdressers who’ve been getting everyone back in trim.
This week’s photograph shows George Harris’s hairdressing rooms at 8 Monnow Street, Monmouth in about 1910.
At his haircutting and shampooing rooms as well as selling all the usual associated toiletries, brushes, combs, razors and scissors he also combined the business with a “sports depot” – the hanging footballs a prominent sign, and the left hand window is full of sports equipment.
He also combined these businesses with another personal profession, as a photographer.
The window display also includes framed photographs which might well be his own.
