THE CASE rate in Torfaen has risen above 300 after a further 285 cases were recorded in seven days.
The number of new cases has seen the local authority's rolling seven-day case rate - to August 19 - rise to 303.3 per 100,000 people. Eleven areas in Wales have a lower case rate.
That figure had been at 198 per 100,000 people for the seven days up to August 12.
Newport's case rate is the highest in Gwent, rising to 338.8 after recording a further 524 cases.
Monmouthshire's case rate is 269.6, after recording 255 new cases, and - after another 407 cases were reported - Caerphilly's case rate is now 224.8.
Blaenau Gwent's case rate is the lowest in Wales - at 176.1. This is after recording 123 new cases in the seven days up to August 19.
The Wales-wide case rate is now also above 300 - standing at 306.1.
Six people have died with coronavirus in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board region in the seven days up to August 19 - taking the Gwent death toll to 977.
2,339,253 people have now had their first coronavirus vaccine dose in Wales, while 2,166,569 people have had both vaccine doses.
