Crickhowell go top of the Gwent Central Division One, following their 4-3 away win at Cwmffrwdoer.
Goalscorers for Cwmffrw-doer were Wayne Saunders (2) and Mark Gunter, while marksman for Crickhowell were Paul Gurnock from a five-yard tap in, James Webb from the penalty spot, Dave Walters got number three from a solo effort, and Graham Mason got Crickhowell's fourth with a shot into the top corner of the net.
Crickhowell had Ricky Bredin sent off after 30 minutes of the first half. Cwmffrwdoer had David Burgham sent off in the 50th minute.
Division One's match of the day was Tranch Utd at home to Goytre. All the points went to Goytre with a single goal in the second half by Ian Rosser.
Goytre should have made it two but they missed a 90th-minute penalty. Tranch had Andy Pollard sent off.
Gilwern & District won 5-1 at home to Mardy. Gilwern established a solid 3-0 half-time lead.
Goal scorers for Gilwern were Matthew Williams (2), Graham Jones, Lee Williams and Graham Rees. Mardy scored a consolation goal through James Collins.
Fairfield Utd re-established their team and recommenced their fixtures with a visit to Clydach Wasps, but the points went to Clydach who won the match 5-3.
Clydach Wasps led 3-2 at half-time. Goal scorers for the Wasps came from a hat-trick by Damian Evans and a goal apiece went to James Powell and Nick Brown.
The goal scorers for Fairfield Utd were Simon Hayes, Ben Forward and Kevin Cooper. Llanarth won 2-0 at home to Panteg. Andrew Childs put Llanarth into a 1-0 lead. A penalty by David Teague in the 65th minute wrapped the match up for Llanarth.
Panteg had Mark Thomas taken to hospital after five minutes play in the first half with a suspected broken ankle, following a fall.
Pontypool Town kept up their winning ways with a 2-0 away win over Lower New Inn. Steve Bennett put Town 1-0 up after 7 minutes, he was put through from the back four and neatly finished the move.
Late in the second half, Lower New Inn pushed forward leaving themselves open at the back, Bennett cashed in on the situation for his second goal of the match.
Usk Town were playing in a preliminary round of the Gwent County FA John Payne Barber Amateur Cup, so the league game Usk Town away to Sebastopol was cancelled.
Prescoed continue to lead Division Two by three points, over second placed New Inn. Prescoed won 7-1 at home over Abergavenny Thurs-days. At half-time Prescoed led 2-1.
Goal scorers for Prescoed were Jermaine Cadette (2), Carlos Bandin, Aaron Smith, Mark McDowell, Paul Hannon and Darren Nesham all scoring one apiece. Justin Swain scored a consolation goal for Thursdays.
A first half goal by Billy Day was enough to give New Inn all the points in their match away to Sebastopol B.
Govilon found themselves 2-1 down at half-time in their match at home to Blaenavon Blues, but Govilon turned it around in the second half to win the match 3-2.
Steve Wedlock scored for Govilon in the first half and Nathan Priest and James Parfitt scored for the Blues. In the second half Steve Wedlock completed his hat-trick, all by the free kick route, without a reply from the Blues.
In their local derby, PILCS B and Race B drew 3-3.
Race B led 2-1 at half-time. Goal scorers for PILCS B were Jon Thompson, Nick Tudball and Nathan Couch. Scorers for Race B were Paul Hayward (2) and Matthew Williams.
Gilwern B won 7-1 away to Pontypool B. At half-time Gilwern B had established a 4-1 lead. Goals for Gilwern B came from a Jason Mason hat-trick, Robby Warner (2), Steve Woods and one by youngster Matthew Burkitt, his first goal in senior football. The Pontypool B goal was scored by Darren Clark.
Usk Town beat Marshfield 3-2 after extra time in the John Payne Barber Amateur Cup. The sides were level 1-1 after 90 minutes. Goal scorers for Usk Town were Marc Strangemore (2) and a Mike Dixon penalty.
The league takes a fixture break next Saturday, so that officials and players can support the Welsh national team in their match with Serbia and Montenegro at the Millennium Stadium.
On Sunday, October 12, the league squad play a friendly match against Gilwern & District, as part of the build-up to their Inter League Cup at Cwmbran Stadium on Wednesday, October 22, kick-off 7.30pm, against East Gwent AFC.
