SKENFRITH manager Paul Brown, right, is adamant all of the club's players should start realising just who is the boss.
Brown is concerned that a number of senior players seem to be channelling their own thoughts into how the team should play, and, according to the Skennie chief, that's causing the side to become very unsettled.
"The players need to start just listening to me and Ian Jenkins our co-manager. There's a few players who have come in and caused confusion by voicing their opinions.
"It's back to discipline this Saturday. What Ian and I say goes," warned Brown.
He was away on business, so missed Saturday's 4-3 defeat, as some hapless defending and indecisiveness in front of goal cost Skennie dearly.
"I've bought a new house so I'm having to put a lot of effort into it. Not anymore though. I'll be back Saturday and they'll be some changes. This is the best team me and Ian have put together, but it has to learn to listen to us," urged Brown.
Nick Oxford took temporary charge on Saturday and his tactical know-how seemed to have won the day with Skennie easily in the lead 3-1 at the break.
But it was a mixed-bag in the second half and it cost Skennie the game.
"I am really very disappointed that we lost, because Leintwardine have conceded so many goals this season.
"We failed to take all the chances presented to us."
Brown is certain the answer to the problem lies in the number nine jersey.
"We are missing a striker. We are desperate for an out-and-out goal scorer. We need someone who can take their chances. We're creating them, but just not finishing them," he had to admit.
Brown also criticised the game's referee, claiming that he gave the opposition a string of unwarranted free kicks.
"We're just not having the run of it at the moment, both with referees and results," he sighed.
Striker David Ellias and winger Mark Diamond got two of Skennie's three goals on Saturday, but now Brown has his eyes firmly set on this weekend's game against Allaton.
"It's really important we win this Saturday. We don't want people thinking we're a soft touch."
Skenfrith will kick off this Saturday's home game against Allaton at 2.30pm.
