PARENTS are delighted with the amalgamation of an Abergavenny infant school on the site of the junior school.
Llwynu Infants School moved to the St David's Junior School site last week and both head teachers aredelighted with the benefits to both parents and children.
Charles Baggott, head of St David's said: "We are now able to work even more closely together. The children are the ones who will benefit from this move and I am particularly pleased with the way the junior pupils are excited about the infants being here.
"They are eager to help the little ones in any way they can.
"We are all pleased with the way the building has been adapted."
The school had been due to open three days earlier, but after a request came from the staff and governors of both schools, Monmouthshire County Council delayed the opening until last week, so last-minute snags could be smoothed out.
Maggie Teague, head of Llwynu Infants said staff had worked very hard getting the school ready for the new term, and are were delighted with the positive response.
