Neil Smith, county development officer for the Farmers Union of Wales said our campaign was 'a terrific idea'.
He said: 'There definitely isn't enough local food sourced from local producers.
'Supply is the main problem. Local producers need to work together to co-ordinate their produce so the supply is constant throughout. Otherwise, supplies will run out and cannot be maintained.
He said food co-ops like the one at The Hendre, featured opposite, were an excellent idea and should be encouraged.
'By buying food direct from your local farmer you know exactly where it has come from and how it has been grown.'
He called on local people to try out local produce as an alternative to the convenience that is the supermarket.
