Bridgwater Chapter of The Harley Davidson Owners' Group have presented £11,080 to various groups, following the very successful "Hoggin' The Bridge" event held in Chepstow last month.
Funds were raised by the collection of fees from riders taking part in the annual event which was described by Dave Holden (Chapter Director) as "The best yet". Local retailers and indeed the whole community pulled out all the stops to welcome the HOGS to Chepstow and now local charities are benefiting.
Alan Browne, Monmouthshire County Council's Area Services Officer, and Steve and Jacqui Sullivan, representing Chepstow Chamber of Commerce, attended the recent meeting and they were assured that the HOGS were overwhelmed by the welcome they received and are very keen to return next year. A cheque for £500 was presented to Jacqui as a contribution to the Chepstow Marketing Group.
This money will now be used by the Group to assist in the funding of future events in the town.
Other presentations were made to:- £2,500 SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association) £2,500 Secret World (Animal Sanctuary) £2,500 St. Annes Hospice £2,500 Brain Wave £580 Natasha (to meet medical needs) The picture shows Jacqui Sullivan presenting a framed picture of Chepstow on the day of the event, to Dave Holden. Pictures were also presented to Rod Bate and Rex Forster, both of whom played a major role in organising the event.
