ABERGAVENNY town centre came to a standstill as hundreds of people saw Elvis turn on the Christmas lights on Saturday.
The King (aka Abergavenny electrician Keith Davies) arrived with his Memphis Mafia at the town hall in a stretch limo.
The star was mobbed by crowds of fans as he made his way into the town hall to be met by Father Christmas and Mayor, Cllr Raymond Hill.
The festive atmosphere could be felt around the town earlier in the day at the busy morning market and continued into the afternoon as shoppers were entertained by Lee Munro and his Vogue FM roadshow.
The DJ warmed up the crowd as they waited to catch a glimpse of Elvis. Keith and his band thrilled his audience by singing several Christmas songs as well as some well-known Elvis songs on a specially built stage.
The town lit up when Elvis, along with the Mayor, Father Christmas and Corky the Clown pressed the button.
Christmas trees lining the streets and an array of lights through the town came alive.
Town Clerk, Jim Wakeley said that there was an excellent turn-out, despite the cold weather.
The lights, funded jointly by Abergavenny Town Council and the Chamber of Trade, can be seen until the first week of January.
