Despite Saturday's cup defeat, player manager Andrew Smith remained upbeat.
He commented: "At the end of the day, we have totally outplayed a side that are up the top end of the table with us. On another day, we could have beat them by two or three goals."
"We were missing three players again today, but showed the quality we have at this club with some of the football we played.
"We just need to realise that, although its nice to pass the ball around and look pretty, sometime we just need to be a little more direct and put it in the mixer."
"Fair play to Abertillery, because they took their chances well and defended well considering the possession we had."
Smith and his side are back in league action this Saturday when they travel to Garnlydan looking for three points to keep their promotion bid on track.
He added: "We'll work hard in training this week and I'll have a few dilemmas when selecting our best 11 for Garnlydan, but I'm sure we'll bounce back from this."
