MARK Guest was honoured at Chepstow Cricket Club's recent annual end of season awards ceremony - picking up the Player of the Year title and a Centurian award.

Guest, who knocked up 538 during the 2005 campaign, averaged over 50 runs an innings over the summer and had also been named as The First XI Captain for next year. The announcements came at the club's Annual General Meeting, held at the Chepstow Hotel

The Second XI Player of the Season was named as Brian Dickinson, who also scored over 500 runs this year and picked up the second of six Centurian awards. Kevin Hitchcott's 300 runs earned him the Third XI Player of Year award while the Fourth XI award went to Paul Phillips. Other Centurian awards were presented to Mark Giles, Dan Price, Chris Ray and Jason Dobbie.

Lyndon Starr was presented with the award for the season's best bowling figures for his performance against Radyr, taking 7-15.

The Players Player was Steff Evans while other special awards were offered to Sarah Jones and Alison Thornhill for their fundraising efforts in 2005.

After the winter break, Rob Jones with take-over the captaincy of the Seconds, Brian Starr the Thirds and Ian Giles the Fourths. Chepstow CC's Sunday Captain was named as Barry Watson.
