EDWARD Harry, pictured left, who attends Chepstow Comprehensive, is a member of Wyedean Canoe Club and this summer placed third in the European Freestyle Kayaking Championships in Nottingham. After then attending competitions in Prague he has now been selected for the Great Britain freestyle kayaking squad.
His father, Mark, said: "Edward first started when he was just ten after we went out on an open canoe while visiting his aunt in Australia. He was keen to take it up when we came back and I have got involved with coaching at the club.
"Edward turns senior next year and will be at the right age in 2012 - most men peak at 27 or so and he will then be 24."
