After three fairly easy games, leage leaders Chepstow went to the second-placed Castle expecting a hard game. They came up against a very good Castle side with a good referee in charge.
The game started fast and furious, both sides challenging for the first goal which came when a corner from Richard Ashill rebounded back for him to put in an unstoppable cross: 0-1 to Chepstow.
Challenging again, Chepstow scored with Jamie Goddard putting away another corner from Richard Ashill just on half time: 0-2.
In the second half, Castle came out looking for goals and Simon Howells got a breakaway goal: 0-3 to Chepstow.
Castle piled on the pressure and got a penalty awarded which Rikki Winser put away to reduce the deficit to 1-3.
Chepstow battled again and got a corner which Simon Howells crossed into the path of one of the Castle's defenders, who scored an own goal, making it 1-4.
The Castle, undeterred fought again, putting Chepstow under a lot of pressure that paid off in the end with a late goal for the Castle super sub Richard Sharratt, making the final score 2-4 at the final whistle. A good game had been had by both sides.
