AN USK man who was arrested for possession of cannabis and an amphetamine/cocaine mix has pleaded guilty to both charges at Abergavenny Magistrates Court.
The court heard last week how Joseph Powell, of 33 New Market Street, threw a small object from his car when he was followed by a police vehicle on December 12 last year.
Ruth Hale, prosecuting said: "On inspection, it was confirmed that the object was a small bag of an amphetamine/cocaine mix, also containing a smaller bag containing cannabis."
Alan Boulter, defending, said: "My client is extremely remorseful and accepts that he simply cannot go around in public places with these drugs on him. But the amounts were negligible and there is no indication that these drugs were to be supplied."
Magistrates agreed to give Powell a 12-month conditional discharge, explaining to Powell that he would be punished for the offence if he reoffended in the next year.
