Goytre 0 Chepstow Town 1
GOYTRE had 16 corners, hit the woodwork twice and had another effort cleared off the line before going down to a late winner to Division Three strugglers Chepstow.
Club chairman Paul Greenhalgh said: "It was very disappointing - we could have won by six, seven or eight nil. We'd beaten Treowen 3-0 the previous week and we were all over Chepstow this time but didn't have the killer instinct."
The home side should have known it was not to be their day when striker Mark Langford suffered a hamstring injury in the warm up. The patched side had plenty of chances, but for the heroics of Rob Moore.
Simon Ritter was the first to be denied, then Kevin Berry was sent clear only for Moore to pull off a fine double save. Kelvin Grimes, Graham Mason, Steve Collett and Geoff Howells all went close while Wallace saw a header cleared off the line - before Chepstow's Dominic Connor ran on to a long ball and slotted past Ryan Mackernass.
Goytre will be looking to return to form when they visit Ystradgynlais this Saturday.
