YOUNGSTERS at Llantilio Pertholey Primary School have collected more than 800 old copies of Yellow Pages - beating last year's total of 501.
The school is one of dozens in Monmouthshire currently competing in the Yellow Woods Challenge - an educational and environmental campaign run by Yellow Pages.
Pupils taking old directories to school for recycling can win cash prizes. For every pound awarded to schools by Yellow Pages, a matching pound is given to the Woodland Trust.
Monmouthshire County Council has teamed up with the directory and the Woodland Trust to encourage schools to compete in the challenge.
The deadline for the challenge has been extended and local schools are still collecting copies until Friday this week.
