Usk Young Farmers have donated £271 towards the upkeep and planting of the Memorial Hall garden in Maryport Street.
Young Farmers' treasurer Susan Jones said: "Every year we raise money through carol singing, which we always give to good causes. We've used the hall regularly in recent years to rehearse and perform drama productions, so this time we thought the hall should benefit."
Thanking the Farmers for their generosity, Hall Chairman Jill Jeremiah said: "This is a welcome gift at a time when we are concentrating all our efforts and finances on upgrading the interior of the hall. Help with the cost of planting and so on will relieve the financial burden and it is also particularly important that the garden looks good this year to support Usk's efforts in the European Entente Florale competition."
