EIGHT soldiers in the 1st Battalion Green Howards regiment, at Chepstow, tested positive in routine Army drug tests.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed the tests at Beachley Barracks, but would not say what the drugs were. The soldiers are under review, but an MoD spokes-man said they could be dismissed.
The spokesman added: "It is totally incompatible with life in the armed forces.
"The results show that surprise testing works."
