MONMOUTHschoolboy George Orchart, was the top-placed South Wales fencer in last weekend's British Youth Championships epee finals, held in Stoke.
The Gwent Sword Club member finished seventh in the boys' under-14 competition, earning him elf a bye through to next year's under-16 finals. George's sister, Olivia, was 12th in the girls' under-18 epee, whilefellow HMSG pupil Rachel Arnold was 28th.
Another Monmouth fencer, Sian Lofthouse, was competing in the BYC sabre finals, where she finished 26th in the under-16 girls' section.
