EIGHT arrests were made in the Abergavenny as part of a clampdown on anti-social behaviour, disorder and licensing offences.
Police officers from Abergavenny neighbourhood policing team, headquarters support group, along with the force and local authority licensing officers were involved in the three-night Operation Titan which ran from Thursday to Saturday.
The operation, led by Sgt Wayne Yandle, was part of a force-wide initiative and was conducted to tackle disorder, anti-social behaviour and licensing offences in the area.
As a result of the operation, eight arrests were made, four fixed penalties for disorder were issued and a number of licensed premises visited. Three pubs were found to be breaching their conditions and were served with notices to ensure future compliance.
Insp Marc Budden, of Abergavenny, said: "Early intervention tactics were used in low-level disorder situations and fixed penalty notices issued. Statistics prove that this early intervention prevents more serious offences occurring later on in the evening.
Sgt Yandle added:"The operation was a success with most licensees co-operating fully with us. The neighbourhood team are involved in a variety of operations and work closely with the community to resolve any issues they have."
