CWMBRAN modelling hopeful Emma Gould had good news after she was unable to make it to the Cardiff heat of the Miss Great Britain competition.
Emma thought she may be out of the running before the race had started when she missed the Cardiff heat last Friday.
"I was pretty gutted that I couldn't get there but luckily the organisers have said that I can take part in the Swansea heat at the beginning of December."
Emma plans to use the unplanned delay to her advantage. She said: "It gives me a bit more time to work on my tan and shed any extra pounds."
The competition consists of a bikini round, an evening wear round and a short microphone interview.
Already working full time with Newport and Gwent Enterprise and setting up her own events management business, Emma also does promotional modelling on the weekends.
So far she has worked for Hewlett Packard, Sunny Delight and Powergen. But before the Swansea heat Emma will be finding time in her busy schedule to gear up for the competition.
Emma said: "I suppose everybody enjoys the recognition and it's something I have always been interested in, so I thought why not give it a go."
