CWMBRAN Town took the lead after just 63 seconds at Carmarthen on Saturday, and then battled on for 89 minutes to finally earn a crucial draw in the Welsh Primer League.
Kristian Hanbury slotted in Jamie Edwards' cross to give the visiting Crows the perfect start, with the home side hitting back just before the break.
After resisting a second half onslaught from Carmarthen, Cwmbran returned with a well-earned point in their struggle for survival.
Since taking over at the helm, new boss Sean Wharton has steered his crew to three games without a defeat in all competitions.
He later claimed his side could have netted as many as seven times but his opposite number at Carmarthen will also question how his side failed to take advantage of their dominance.
Kevin Ahearne-Evans headed in a free kick for the home side to draw level after 45 minutes, before a second half which saw Carmarthen pepper the Cwmbran goal with shots, three of which struck the post.
Wharton may have been ruing missed chances by his own men, but will be happy with the result.
Cwmbran this weekend entertain Connah's Quay, who prop up the division with just two draws from ten games.
