Blaenavon needed to win against Govilon a win to put them back at the top of Division One.
Govilon started the stronger, but without creating any clear chances. The Blues first opportunity came after ten minutes, only for Karl Hooper to shoot wide.
Minutes later Blaenavon gave away a free kick down their right, and from the kick Govilon scored with a power header from a tight angle.
The remainder of the half saw an aggressive Govilon pressure Blaenavon into some anxious goalmouth clearances.
On the stroke of half time, some good inter-play between James Parfitt and Marc Browning resulted in a corner for the Blues, and Karl Hooper equalised.
The second half saw a more confident Blues pin Govilon back for long periods, while Blaenavon's back four were untroubled for the rest of the game.
The Blues' winning goal was scored by Craig Harris, and Blaenavon created even more chances but were unable to add to their score. Man of the match for Blaenavon was James Parfitt.
