New Inn extended their unbeaten run to five games after this fine result against a very competitive Fairfield team.
In the opening five minutes the visitors got off to the perfect start, a well worked free kick resulted in a headed goal.
The equaliser came after 30 minutes, created by a strong run into the box from Anthony Davies, the ball fell to Nathan Blackwell who produced a good finish.
New Inn pushed for a second, but were restricted to only half chances thanks to a solid Fairfield back four.
After half time, New Inn came out the stronger side, going close on the hour mark. Substitute Lee Foxhall crossing for Jeff Tozer who saw his volley canon back off the crossbar.
The game looked as though it was heading for a draw until 15 minutes remaining, Lee Foxhall causing more problems for the visitors, cutting the ball back for Blackwell to grab his second of the game.
The goal turned out to be the winner in what was a very hard fought game. New Inn now trail leaders Abergavenny by just three points with a game in hand.
