DAVID Gray takes his Pontypool side down to Bridgend on Saturday, after the international weekend off, looking for Pooler to deliver another shock.
Pooler have won just six out of their 20 games this term, while opponents Bridgend lie fourth in the Welsh Premiership with 15 victories. But Gray's men are in improving form - unbeaten in two after beating Llanelli and surviving a late flurry of kicks at home to Maestag a fortnight ago. Their hosts on the other hand lost 37-29 at the weekend at the hands of promotion rivals Aberavon, who leapfrogged Bridgend into second.
Gray said: "We're looking forward to the challenge. They're a good side and we'll have to be on our top form to compete with them.
"It's important that we go down there in the fight frame of mind and be prepared, work hard and for each other. We've had a few shocks so far this season so why not get another one?"
The Pooler coach boasts a squad will a clean bill of health for Saturday's trip down the M4, with Andrew Quick, who is unavailable on military duty the only absentee.
Gray added: "We've also got Julian Ryner at prop back from suspension, which gives us a good edge and more strength in depth in the front row. Hopefully his return will better the squad as it gives us more options, and that's obviously what we want."
But Gray would not be pushed into confirming Ryner's immediate return to the side, adding: "Obviously he's back in contention, but we've got training on Thursday evening so we'll see who is in form and available then."
