IT'S a family affair for a mum and her two daughters, as they all work for Gwent Police.
Now Amanda Yung has followed in the footsteps of her elder daughter by patrolling as a police community support officer in the Abergavenny area.
Ms Yung became a PCSO with Gwent Police four years ago, following her daughter Georgina Care. After a 15-year career as in internal verifier at a training company, Ms Yung had left to begin patrolling the Caldicot and Rogiet area.
She is currently on secondment in the Abergavenny area, having taken over Ms Care's old patch. Ms Care has now become a PC and is based in Newport.
"I'd heard about the job from Georgina and wanted to do it myself. I really enjoy it and do get recognised as Georgina's mum. It's nice as people feel they can approach me," said Ms Yung. Ms Care, 32, joined the force as a PCSO five years ago covering the Llanelly and Llanvihangel Crucorney wards. Ms Care's sister, Jacqueline Care, 28, is a Case Progression Officer and works alongside the Crown Prosecution Service in Cwmbran.
"We were always a very tight-knit family and by working together and sharing our problems at home and in work, it's made us even closer," added Ms Yung.
All three women live in Torfaen.
