A MOBILE skatepark will open to youngsters in Usk as part of an initiative by the town council.
For four days in August a fully-equipped temporary skatepark will be opened on the site of Usk Primary School.
The aim of the activity days is to raise awareness of the sport and gain support in securing a permanent site in the town.
The equipment, which includes quarter pipes, flat bank, spine, fun box and a grind rail, is being hired from mobile outdoor activity company, Highline Adventures of Peterborough, after a local parent helped the council in securing over £3,500 in funding from the Big Lottery FundÕs Awards for All scheme.
The skatepark will open in the infants' yard between 10am and 5pm (weather permitting) on Wednesday and Thursday August 10-11, and Tuesday and Wednesday August 16-17.
Gwent Police officers will patrol regularly during this time.
