A GROUP of bus drivers who went on a gruelling 26 mile walk to raise money for the charity Help for Heroes are pleased with their grand total.
Three bus drivers from Jenson Travel in Pontypool completed the walk, that took them from Avebury to Stonehenge, in June.
Transport manager, Nicola Jenkins, and two of the firms bus drivers David Robinson, aged 43, and Mac Mcfarlane, aged 61, successfully completed the challenge.
Their sponsorship money has been handed in and they are pleased to report that they raised £1,260.
The family run business has previously raised £4,542 for various charities by doing on board raffles.
The firm was set up by Thomas Jenkins in 1970 with his son Gwyn and later Thomas' granddaughter Nicola joined the team, taking the place of her grandfather as transport manager.
Miss Jenkins, aged 37, said: "It was my idea to start collecting for charity. On tours I brought raffle prizes, but now passengers donate them.
"I asked the staff if they wanted to take part in the walk as I thought it would be good to raise money for our boys."
