CHEPSTOW Boxing Club have had good news in and out of the ring recently, according to head coach Steve Woods.
“We had our youngest carded member completing again,” he said.
“Alway boxing club held a show at Pill Millennium Centre in Newport, where our 10-year-old boxer Oliver Vaughan took on Ashton Thomas from Pontyclun boxing club.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with Oliver’s performance.
“Not only winning the bout by unanimous decision but also giving his opponent two standing counts.
Oliver is a super fit lad he trains exceptionally hard and this hard work is paying off not only in boxing but he also won Monmouthshire schools cross country race recently representing his school.
More good news came from our sponsor Certus Construction have donated £2,500 for us to put coaches through the coaching course.”
